The Historic Schoolmaster’s House, circa 1818, is a former tutoring home for Empire Loyalist families in the 1830s, we are ideally situated at the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake Wine country. Our B&B has been exquisitely and faithfully restored, one of the earliest nineteenth century Niagara-on-the-Lake Bed and Breakfasts. In addition to the lovely suites, enjoy our beautiful perennial gardens, including three pergolas, Koi Pond, and stream.
Elsie Mae and Jason are the proud owners of this Ontario heritage home. We invite you to explore our Niagara-on-the-Lake B&B and spend some time with us.

I wanted to touch base with you and thank you for three beautiful days. We will definitely be back. JHBeautiful
My first ever B&B experience and I would recommend for everyone. Especially at the Schoolmaster's House. The couple who owns the B&B are some of the nicest, inviting people I have ever met. Greeted us at the door when we arrived, provided contact info in case of emergencies and did a full house tour before we got settled. The gardens on the property are stunning and has multiple sitting areas where you are not interrupter by other conversations- very private but inviting. The home is beautiful. Breakfast was truly delicious. This will be the only place I go back to when I visit. EmmaFirst time at B&B
We stayed one night at the Schoolmaster's House bed and breakfast in June. We received a warm welcome and a tour of the beautiful house, nearly two hundred years old. Our suite was beautiful, with two bedrooms, a sitting room and bathroom, all spotlessly clean and charming. The bathroom had lovely local toiletries, soft towels and a beautiful roll-top bath with a great shower. The sitting room had a large TV which we didn't switch on as we were fascinated with the lovely poetry and history books available for guests to read. We also had full access to the beautiful garden which was a relaxing oasis of beautiful flowers and scented herbs. The Schoolmaster's house is a short walk from the centre of the beautiful town of NOTL, and a very short drive from some lovely wineries. Elsie-Mae was an attentive host and the breakfast she made was just wonderful - delicate strawberry tarts and crispy maple bacon, home made scones and local jams, followed by yogurt with berries and granola. Coffee was lovely too, and she was great company and very knowledgeable about the town and the area. All in all, highly recommended. I plan to return! DMBeautiful, historical, comfortable!
Just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful stay at your special place. We really appreciated the care you take with your breakfasts and attention to detail. My mouth is watering just thinking about Sunday mornings eggs Benedict. I am sure we will see you again sometime in the future. Have a great season and good luck with your new venture.
